The LOEWE Research Cluster Infrastructure – Design – Society

The LOEWE research cluster focuses as project-mo.de on the mobility of individuals with regard to the transport system and its infrastructure (mobility structures). We develop concepts to promote multimodal, environmentally friendly mobility behavior. The user-oriented way of thinking in the sense of participatory technology and offer design requires the development of specific as well as mobility-oriented design methods. Design research focuses on the emotional factors involved in the perception of mobility services with the aim of positively influencing the attitudes and behaviors of users. Our research focuses on concepts for the planning and design of mobility spaces. Regional players and users are actively involved and the development of sustainable infrastructures and multimodal mobility chains is made possible.

Lead-managed by HfG Offenbach University of Art and Design, 20 academics work on these joint issues at the HfG, Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences, Goethe University Frankfurt, and Technical University Darmstadt. The research cluster is funded by the Hessen State Ministry for Higher Education, Research and the Arts as part of the LOEWE research programme.
