06 Sept 2019 – The exhibition “Fahr Rad! – The Reconquest of the City” in the Documenta Hall in Kassel addresses urban development with a focus on bicycle mobility. Examples from all over the world are presented and students of the subject area “Integrated Design” at the HfG Offenbach by Prof. Peter Eckart present the project “bike-bridge”. The project involved the design of a bicycle bridge at Frankfurt Airport in front of Terminal 2 (more information can be found here www.hfg-offenbach.de/de/pages/integrierendes-design). The start-up “Convercycle” with its city bike and cargo bike both in one can also be seen: www.convercycle.com (developed from a semester project by David Maurer-Laube in the teaching area). As part of the exhibition, the Bundesstiftung Baukultur (Federal Foundation for Building Culture) is holding its fourth Building Culture Dialogue on September 6, 2019 at 10 a.m. in the Documenta Hall on the subject of “Mobility of the Future” (more information here: www.bundesstiftung-baukultur.de/veranstaltungen/mobilitaet-der-zukunft). Prof. Peter Eckart will take part in the subsequent dialogue table.
