December 12, 2019 – The closure of Frankfurt’s Main quay to motor traffic also opens up space for research: The research project “Autonomous at Main quay” at Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences has been scientifically accompanying the operation of two autonomous shuttle buses on Frankfurt’s Main quay since October 2019 on an approx. 700 m long closed-off road section. The aims of the project are the research, analysis and final evaluation of the local conditions. In order to investigate the fundamental acceptance of autonomous bus transport, quantitative user surveys and stakeholder interviews will be conducted during operation in order to gather further relevant findings.
