Kai Vöckler holds the endowed Chair for Creativity in Urban Contexts at the HfG Offenbach. He works on urban issues and researches the design of new, environmentally friendly forms of mobility in urban agglomerations. In this field he is working on a mobility design concept that fundamentally takes into account the need of various users when creating new environmentally friendly mobility programs.
In 2014 Vöckler in cooperation with Prof. Peter Eckart and Prof. Georg-Christof Bertsch founded the Design Institute for Mobility and Logistics (DML) at the HfG Offenbach. All aspects of mobility-related design, visualization, and design research are clustered there under one roof.
Vöckler publishes on contemporary issues in art theory, urbanism, and design science. As a founding member of Archis Interventions, he has worked on urban development projects in Germany, Southeast Europe and Asia. In parallel, Vöckler has curated various exhibitions at various cultural institutions, most recently, for example, „Rhein-Main – Die Region leben“[Rhine-Main—Living the Region] at the Deutsches Architekturmuseum (DAM) in Frankfurt (9 June–14 October 2018).
